Range Rover and Range Rover Sport awarded 5-Star Euro NCAP safety ratings

Both the Range Rover and the Range Rover Sport are based on a new mixed-metal, flexible Modular Longitudinal Architecture that serves as a solid base for these SUVs. They are also equipped with driver assistance technologies that make these SUVs even safer.
The New Range Rover is available in four, five and seven seat layouts and the company says that it is up to 50 percent stiffer than its predecessor. On the other hand, the Range Rover Sport is 35 percent stiffer than its predecessor.
In the latest Euro NCAP tests the Range Rover scored 87 percent for child occupant protection and 72 percent for vulnerable road users. Whereas the Range Rover Sport scored 85 percent for adult occupant protection. Also, for safety assist both SUVs scored 82 percent.
Commenting on the occasion from on behalf of Jaguar Land Rover, the Executive Director Product Engineering, Thomas Mueller, “These excellent Euro NCAP results are a direct result of the hard work and expertise that goes into designing, engineering and manufacturing vehicles that have combined safety, capability and luxury for more than five decades”. He added that the mixed metal MLA-Flex body architecture serves as a solid foundation of these SUVs and when combined with active safety systems, maximum protection is ensured for occupant as well as for the road users.
