Mukesh and Nita Ambani welcome twin grandchildren in cars worth over Rs 35 crore! [Video]
While the Ambani family welcomed the twin grandchildren and the videos became viral on the Internet, the only part we could focus on is the cars. Ambanis currently have the most expensive garage in India with more than 200 cars including luxury cars and sports cars. While we have seen the Ambanis riding their ultra-expensive cars too many times now, this is the first time that they have been spotted standing outside with their armoured vehicles.
The Ambanis opened the gates of Antila to the photographers for the first time ever. While welcoming their children who have visited for the first time after their birth in the USA, photographers surrounded them to get a glimpse of their two armoured cars and the most-expensive Rolls Royce Cullinan in their garage.

W222 Mercedes-Benz S600 Guard
Cost: Rs 12 crore
This is the latest-generation Mercedes-Benz S-Guard that Ambani received earlier this year. The cost of this car is likely to be more than Rs 12 crore depending on the customisation level. The W222 Mercedes S600 Guard has been designed to look as regular as possible. That’s to ensure that the vehicle’s appearance does not give out the fact that it is a bulletproof vehicle.
This is the armoured version of the Mercedes-Maybach S600 sedan and comes with VR10-level protection, which makes it the first civilian vehicle in the world to get this certification. It translates into withstanding steel core bullets fired directly at the car and even 15 kg of TNT blast from a distance of 2 metres! It comes with a long list of features including a reinforced base structure and a special underbody armour with polycarbonate-coated windows. The vehicle is made up of special steel and the body shell is made up of reinforced steel.
It comes powered by a massive 6.0-litre V12, bi-turbocharged petrol engine that develops a massive 523 Bhp and 850 Nm of torque. It gets a seven-speed automatic transmission. Even the suspension of the car has been re-tuned to handle the extra weight while providing maximum comfort.
BMW 7-Series 760 Li Hi-Security
Cost Rs 10 crore
This is one of the oldest armoured cars used by Mukesh Ambani. It is the same vehicle model that even Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Narendra Modi used as well.
The BMW 7-Series High Security is based on the top-of-the-line saloon 760Li. The car has been modified as discreetly as possible to make sure that it does not look different from the regular 7-Series.
It is the first armoured car in the world that is fully compliant with VR7 ballistic protection. The armoured vehicle has kevlar plates inside the door panels while the bulletproof glass for each window is 65mm thick and weighs 150 kg each.
The vehicle can withstand military-grade weapons and can withstand hand grenade blasts easily. The car can also keep the occupants safe from high-intensity TNT blasts of up to 17 kilograms. The heavily armoured car has been tested against land mines and fragment grenades. Even the firing of an AK-47 cannot penetrate the armour. The fuel tank is also made of self-sealing kevlar and cannot catch fire even during the worst situation.
The car is propelled by a V12 6.0-litre petrol engine that produces a maximum power of 544 Bhp and 750 Nm of maximum torque. Mated with 8-speed transmission, the car can do 0-100 km/h in just 6.2 seconds and hit a top speed of 210 km/h.
Rolls Royce Cullinan
Cost: Rs 13.8 crore
Earlier this year, PTI claimed that this new Rolls Royce Cullinan costs Rs 13.8 crore. While the base price of the Rolls Royce Cullinan is Rs 6.8 crore, additional optional items and customisation can raise the cost by a lot. This is the third Cullinan in the Ambani garage.
While the exact customisation options chosen by the Ambanis remain a secret, we can see that the new Cullinan is finished in the brilliant Tuscan Sun colour shade that makes it stand out in the crowd. The paint job alone is said to have cost a little under Rs. 1 crore. It also looks like the car gets optional 21-inch wheels. The price of the alloy wheels is not available online and is only revealed upon request.
